For the Manga Antipode Painting Serie I was inspired by the Japanese Manga Movies. Their travel across time and imaginary levels refer in an excellent way to psychic flights across the inner timeless universe of man.
The Paintings are again the result from a work with a model. The performative ritual of painting links to the cosmic universe all human beings belong to.. The texture of the skin and the psychic texture of the painting are in a permanent dialogue.
WELTKUNST COMMENTARIES is an assembly of virtual art-landscape-signs. As a global civilisation we travel along a cultural evolution, whose engine is art. The failures and success of art become the failures and success of the global civilisation.
Art is a ritual for the permanent renewal of the cultural possibilities of a civilisation. The rejection of that renewal means the permanent reconfirmation of the same ethical and moral values. But those values need a constant questionening and renewal to be worthwile and true in a society. Therefore the society needs the affirmation of the artist's interrogation of the space void of ethic and moral, so that he might come back with the renewed version.
